BANDITS

José Rodríguez Ramos, (Baby) was the typical person who flattered you and made you want to be better. I studied piano when he was my teacher of music theory. One day after school, told me to stay and talk to me. They needed someone to play in the Band (which he directed) I told him I'd think about it and I thought. I did not know what the hell a Tuba was, but I said, why not? Little conscious I was of the adventure that began with that decision, but it was kind of a jump into the void to a totally unknown world for me.
When I finally arrived at rehearsal, in the pre-auditorium dilapidated attic of council time and they say to me, "Roberto, this is a tuba", I was up all the blood to the head and thought (Damn, where the hell I got!!!) if I could not even lift it playing the Basques...
But I was committed, so I did not complain, and I do not regret, in the months and years following the environment, classes, people, the instrument, workshops, concerts, travel, everything, everything was amazing. I think it was the best decision of my life, or at least the one that gave me more as a person.
When Baby said he was leaving the band, it was as if we all were given a slap, but the story continued, and continued... there I met Bobe, Ramon, Saleta, Sara, Graña, Cristina... (endless friends). The footsall team BMV (Music Band of Villalba) The excursion to Torremolinos, or the travel to the hotel "Australian Kangaroo", or trips to Portugal, well... Already 21 years since that day I discovered what a Tuba was, and the adventures and misadventures were many, and although I am now living far away and working almost every day, whenever I can, like the wolf back for Christmas to attend a rehearsal, or play in a concert, because that is another family, which can not be ignored.

BANDOLEROS
